Frequency of Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) Among Patients with Helicobacter Pylori Infection

Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the prevalence iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) in helicobacter pylori-infected patients. Study Design: Prospective/cross-sectional Place and Duration: This was conducted at Benazir Bhutu Hospital Rawalpindi during period from July, 2022 September, 2022. Methods: Total 105 patients Helicobacter pylori infection, who ranged age 18 65 years included. All gave their informed written consent after being asked about age, sex, body mass index, level education, place residence. Blood samples subjects were analysed determine levels serum iron, transferrin saturation, ferritin, total iron-binding capacity. H. infection can be found by histopathology, stool antigen testing, a fast urease test, or urea breath test. entire data set analyzed using SPSS 24.0. Results: Among all there majority females. Majority illiterate rural areas. 60 (57.1%) had poor socio-economic status. Mean Hemoglobin 12.1±0.6 (g/dl) mean 49.8 ±10.33(ug/dl) ferritin 121.7±42.87 (ng per ml).Frequency anemia 43 (40.95%) cases IDA, >35 years.
